Hana Cultural Center & Museum

Located in the center of Hana is the Hana Cultural Center & Museum developed by local residents to tell the story of this unique Hawaiian community. Here you can see 560 Hawaiian artifacts, over 600 books, a bottle collection and some 5,000 photographs from the Hana District. This is the perfect place for history enthusiasts.

Kahanu Gardens
A beautiful area of land with wonderful specimens of plants. Itʻs a very sacred space as it holds the ancient Heiau (temple) of Piilanihale.
Hana Bay Beach Park
This is the community and cultural center of the area. The beach park, with the fishermanʻs hale above, has itʻs shore lined with outrigger canoes and places to relax and watch.
Hamoa Beach
This popular beach is named one of the best in many polls, year-after-year. It has great waves and shady spots to get out of the sun. Parking is limited along the road so donʻt be disappointed if you canʻt stop.
Wai’anapanapa State Park
This park might be the most beautiful in the state. Sea arches, blow hole, ancient remains, lava tubes, caves and a great black sand beach.
Hasegawa General Store
Throughout the island of Maui, as populations grew, the need for general goods among the plantation population exploded. The longest running and most successful of these stores were started by Japanese families. This one in Hana has just about everything you can think of!
Stands & Farmerʻs Markets
There is tropical fruit growing everywhere so many homes have a stand right out front, especially on the drive into Waianapanapa. There are a number of larger stands open daily along the road with great local treats and baked goods like banana bread too!
Hana Maui Hyatt Hotel
Over the years this hotel has been known by many names but to us it will always be the iconic Hana hotel. Situated right in the middle of town, itʻs the areaʻs largest private employer. The small town itself has a few things to enjoy and no place to comfortably walk, unless you plan to head up to Faganʻs Cross and itʻs viewpoint above town.
Do I need to bring food with me or will there be plenty of options along the way?

Visitors during the day will find a lot of different options throughout the area. Be prepared to wait everywhere unless you are on a pre-planned tour. Food trucks, restaurants, sandwich stands, fruit stalls, general stores, bbq pits, and beach-side huts can be found throughout the area.
Are there options to stay out in Hana?

You can definitely stay a few nights in Hana and we encourage visitors to do it. You will experience Hawaii in a very quiet and peaceful way. You will love it. There are a number of AirBnB options, as well as vacation condos and the Hana-Maui Hyatt Resort. We can arrange a 2 or 4 night experience at the resort that includes an airplane flight to Hana so you donʻt even have to deal with the hundreds of curves. Itʻs a straight flight from takeoff to landing.
