Tours stop at the unique Waianapanapa State Park near Hana. Itʻs a beautiful black sand beach that is famous across the world. Sea arches, a sea-side walking trail, pathways, and a blowhole are found in this oceanside park. This park even has a small lava tube cave to explore!

Waterfalls and Rainforest

Throughout the day, we are constantly making stops to enjoy the spectacular views. Feel the spray of the ocean, the light mist of rain or the rush of the trade winds. Each stop is a new and different experience and we will show you it all. Stand above ocean cliffs deep in the Hana rainforest or at the rugged shoreline with waves crashing about. There is so much to see and explore!

Your private tour starts when you want, but it's best to get out with your guide early as there is a lot of ground to cover getting out to Hana and back. You can choose your route and stops outside those we have set for you based on your tour group size and type. Your day can be more adventurous, family-friendly, stress-free, relaxing, or all together. We strive to make this one of your very best days on Maui.

There are meal choice add-ons in the booking box. When exploring Maui, you want to be able to focus on the sights and sounds of this tropical paradise. A rumbling belly is a distraction that is easily cured! Don't worry about transportation either. Your guide will pick you up at your South or West Maui hotel or condo and return you after an 11 to 11-hour day.

Stops can include but are not limited to, Waianapanapa State Park, Keanae, Puu Kaa State Park, Hana Town, Hana Bay, Black Sand Beach, and more.

We will stop for lunch at a place suited for your group's desires, food trucks, a sit-down restaurant, or a picnic location. We have a few favorite spots that we love to take guests.

In the event of cancellation or request change to your reservation, please note the following. Most Road To Hana Tours originating from Maui, there is no charge for date change or tour change based on tour availability.

Any request for a refund prior to 7 days is honored with a full refund (50% refund for cancellations made 4–6 days prior). There is no refund for no-shows. No refunds issued for any tours within the 3 days period, prior to the start of your tour.

Will I Get Motion Sickness On This Tour?

Your guide will do their best to drive smoothly which reduces the motion that causes upset stomach. They will also have a variety of other items like ginger which is known to help with motion symptoms.
Do You Offer Tours From Other Islands Or Airport Pickup?

We do pick up at the airport for an extra fee, depending on your group size. We can arrange your one-day trips to Maui from any of the Hawaiian islands. We also offer vacation packages that can be customized to your needs. Ask us about it.
What Stops Are Guaranteed On A Private Road To Hana Tour?

A journey to Hana is truly an adventure. The rain, the road, the forest and other drivers are all factors on that 600 turn, 62 bridge 2-lane (mostly) highway. We can never guarantee any stop as the weather and conditions change dramatically, often. We do strive to hit the main spots like Waianapanapa, Keanae, Hana, Wailua and Kaupo which offer varied sights and activities. We stop as often as we can at waterfalls, overlooks and other interesting spots we come across that day.
Can This Tour Go To The Backside of Maui?

The backside access varies greatly due to weather and road conditions. Private tours that spend time on the backside can be found here.

Is the cave different than the lava tube?

There is a small lava tube at Waianapanapa State Park, down at the beach. It is sometimes refered to as a cave because of itʻs set up. The Hana Caves which is a large lava tube which you can explore deep into, is available on our private tours as an add-on.
