Safe Travels protocols were developed by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WWTC)
Over 100 countries signed onto the Safe Travels protocol that companies, organizations, and even whole countries can follow that will help keep their visitors safe. In Hawaii, we took the pandemic seriously, shutting down almost completely to the outside world as we worked to keep the spread of COVID-19 low.
In opening up our tourism operations, we and some of our vendors decided that we needed more training, education and a way to show our visitors that we are doing more to keep them safe. This is the first safety and hygiene stamp to ever be developed on a global level. The Sustainable Tourism Association of Hawaii (STAH) was granted the authority to issue the stamp to local tour operators.
Check out the activities below that have attained accreditation of their cleaning and operating procedures.
