Visiting Kipahulu Section of Haleakala National Park is nothing like the Summit Area (where you can watch the sunrise and look into a volcano). Here, tropical green and beautiful sea blue dominate the landscape. The incredible lush rainforest views will remind you why you came to Hawaii.
On the lower slopes of Haleakala, within the National Park, near the ocean sits the famous Pools at Oheo, aka “Seven Sacred Pools”. You’ll discover beautiful waterfalls and if weather permits, you can take a dip in the cascading waterfalls. Since the area gets so much rain and often floods that swimming in the pools is never guaranteed.
Hana is the peaceful town of Maui’s rugged easern coastline. It is considered one of the last unspoiled Hawaiian wilderness. The famous road to Hana is only 52 miles from Kahului; although the drive can take anywhere from two to four hours to complete since it has 620 curves and 59 bridges and incredible views. Your guide will take you down this magical road and around the backside too!
