Your local guide for the day will meet you at Kahului airport to start your adventure. While the journey to and from Hana is memorable in itself, there’s nothing like driving it with someone who knows the area well. Your guide will ensure that you see the iconic landmarks and entertain you with stories about the people, land, and family.
A unique aspect of this Hana tour is that you'll fly back from Hana on our partner airline, Mokulele. This means you'll bypass the lines and find convenient parking at the small commuter terminal, located next to the main airport terminal. These small planes fly slower, and at a lower altitude, allowing you ample time to soak in the stunning views below as you make your way back.
During our drive on the Road to Hana, we'll spend most of our day exploring some of Hawaii's most scenic locations. Your guide will also introduce you to local families who offer delicious treats and tropical treasures, adding a unique and authentic touch to your experience. We'll visit several roadside shops and stands, take a tour of the town, and hopefully find some souvenirs to commemorate your journey.

Take all the time you need to really drink in every one of the Road to Hana's many sights and memorable stops. This tour offers the longest time at each stop of any tour of this area, ensuring that you can get the most out of your visit to one of Maui's best locations.
Your trip starts with pickup at the commuter terminal at Kahului Airport, where you'll meet your tour guide for the day. When you fly with our partner for this tour, you will be taken lower than most commercial flights, allowing you a closer view of Maui. This aerial perspective lets you see not just the areas we will be driving through, but also large stretches of the rest of Maui, so you can see everything that makes this island so memorable. After a brief introduction to the surf town of Paia, you'll visit a beautiful beach known for epic surf and Hawaiian green sea turtles.
The tour continues with stops for a local breakfast at a charming country store (purchased on your own), at rainforest and ocean overlooks, as well as cliffside parks. You'll then head to Keanae Peninsula to try some iconic banana bread, passing by numerous waterfalls, a bamboo forest, and iconic village scenes along the way.
Throughout the drive, your guide will entertain you with stories about the people, land, and history, helping you feel a deeper connection to the land. You'll have an opportunity to stop for a rainforest waterfall pool swim before heading into Hana town to visit colorful beaches, enjoy great food, and explore the town.
Finally, your guide will take you to the small airport at Hana for your return flight to Kahului. This 20-minute flight offers each passenger a window seat, flying low along the coast so you can enjoy detailed views of the beautiful scenery. The afternoon flight will provide a stunning scene as you land back in Kahului a short while later.
